the fantastic flying books of mr. morris lessmore

John Pavlus reviews an e-book with a difference on Fastco Design. ‘The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore’ is created by William Joyce, an author, illustrator and animator, who used to create characters for Pixar, Dreamworks and Disney. Joyce and his team created a ‘well-written bedtime story and an immersive animated movie at once -- without being "too much" of either’.

‘The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore’ has interactive features one very page that encourages a child to play and explore. There are cues that will surface to gently prod the user to spend more time on the page and discover what’s in there.  Some features are hidden so the user will have to scout around to find them and bring them to life. This is much more exciting than the usual e-book with moving visuals and perhaps it’s just the thing to light up the young one’s imagination and amaze grandma at reading time. This app is developed for iPad and is available on iTunes.
