While the world is awaiting the arrival of the 2012 Olympic Games in London this July 27th, the whole country is gearing up for the biggest sporting event in the world. From now to the end of the games, other non-sporting events inspired by the Olympics are held in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. Sports will not be the only attraction as there will be plenty of cultural events, exhibitions, carnivals and performances covering art, books, dance, fashion, theatre, music, comedy and kids interests.
The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad is the largest cultural celebration in the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic Movements. The culmination of the Cultural Olympiad is the London 2012 Festival, providing visitors opportunities to see free world-class events throughout the UK.
