Mercedes Benz has unveiled a futuristic, new look for their compact A-CLASS. As a front-wheel-drive car, the Concept-A CLASS benefits from both turbocharging and direct-injection. A BlueEFFICIENCY 2.0-liter four-cylinder enfine is fitted under the hood and produces 210-horsepower.
With style and power embodied in this luxury compact model, first-rate safety features are added to the Concept-A. It includes a radar-based collision detection system that is the first of its kind in this category, and Adaptive Brake Assist, which can lower the risk of having someone rear-end your 2012 A-Class.
The Look - Cool, futuristic and radical. An expressive design based on an interplay of concave and convex surfaces, representing the revolutionary face of the new generation of Mercedes Benz compact cars.
The Front - Clear-cut edges flow across the sharply-defined bonnet to the striking front section. Right up front, the innovative 'dot' structure of the radiator grille makes its own 3-dimensional, expressive statement with the brand logo right in the centre. Wing-shaped optical fibres with aluminium sleeves define the 'powerful' look of the high-performance headlamps.
The Communication - A large screen display brings together all the information the driver needs, on the road and on the web, with the multimedia instrument that is supplemented by an e-mail function directly connected to Facebook and Twitter.
The Interior - The interior combines elements from aeronautical engineering, bionic structures and high-tech metallised materials, giving the concept of lightweight design a whole new meaning. The illuminated dashboard takes the forms of an aircraft wing, providing a futuristic focus.
The Vision - Details inspired by aircraft construction, flat glass surfaces and flowing forms surround the large glass panoramic roof, giving a perfectly sunlit-illuminated interior.
The Safety - Complete with groundbreaking safety features including the Collision Prevention Assist. This driver assistance system features sensors that gives drivers with proximity warnings, monitoring of the distance to vehicles ahead and braking assistance.
