Ever heard of the OnePlus One? The company was founded by the former Vice President of Chinese electronics manufacturer OPPO, Peter Lau, in December 2013.
About four months later, they launched the phone and its marketing campaign 'Smash the Past' in which selected participants were asked to submit a video of them destroying their old phones to stand a chance to win a brand new OnePlus One.
Perhaps there are better ways to get rid of your phone (like selling it) but when you look at the specs, its almost as if you can be excused for such an action.
The company dubbed the phone the '2014 Flagship Killer'. The phone has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1080x1920 pixel resolution and offers a pixel density of 401ppi, all under the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Inside, there is a massive 3GB of RAM and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which runs at 2.5GHZ and the Adreno 330 graphics processing unit for superior graphic performance.

For those shots and videos, there's the rear facing 13 megapixel camera with six lenses and an f/2.0 aperture that boasts a shutter speed of only 0.3 seconds and is capable of recording 4K video. For those selfies, there's a five megapixel front facing camera at your disposal.
The phone connects to 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, has Bluetooth 4.0 and near-field communications functionality. Powering the phone is a whopping 3,100mAh non-removable battery which is a tad less than the one in the Samsung Note 3 and more than the Samsung S5. The only hardware it lacks is an expandable memory card slot but if you already have trouble using internal memory this is not a big problem.
The OnePlus One comes with Cyanogen Mod which allows for a lot of customization options. Cyanogen is a third party software for Android phone but 'rooting' the phone is required in the process. When you 'root' an Android phone, you bypass certain restrictions that the the phone manufacturers have in place.
Essentially, the OnePlus One is working to its fullest potential and is free from the 'bloatware' that comes when phone companies put in their own software which prevents a phone from achieving optimum performance.
