get great hair, the natural way

Great-looking hair can be a real asset and head-turner. A good cut and style can elevate a person's confidence and improve one's mood, but when the hair shines and behaves exactly the way you want it to, it raises the attractive level even more. If you are not keen on applying off-the-shelves chemicals or paying salon-prices for pretty hair, then take a look at some natural home remedies that you can whip up in your kitchen and get great results.

Baking Soda
Piling on gels, hairsprays, leave-in-conditioners and mousse can leave your hair dull and grimey even though you wash with shampoo. Try giving it a thorough cleansing with baking soda at least once a week to get rid off all the chemicals and impurities still stuck in your hair. Simply add 1 tablespoon of soda to your hair while shampooing.

If you have dry hair, butter up your hair with a little butter and cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes.  Shampoo and rinse thoroughly and be rewarded with a luxuriant shine.

Castor Oil
Castor oil is a good remedy for healthy, shiny hair. It is oil obtained from the bean of the castor plant. Make a conditioner with 2 teaspoons of castor oil, 1 teaspoon of glycerin and 1 egg white.  Massage it into wet hair, wait several minutes and then rinse.

Olive Oil

Olive is one of the best ways to put the shine and moisture back into dry hair.  Heat half a cup of olive oil (not boiled) and apply liberally to your hair and scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap or wrap it in a towel. Leave it for 45 minutes, then shampoo and rinse thoroughly.

To give a natural shine to dry hair, use about a liter of warm, unsweetened tea (freshly brewed or instant) as a final rinse after your regular shampoo.

Limp or damaged hair can benefit from an excellent hair conditioner made with vinegar. Combine 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons olive oil and 3 egg whites. Rub the mixture into your hair, keep it covered for 30 minutes with a shower cap or cling wrap.  Shampoo and rinse as usual.

If you have light-colored hair, swimming in a chlorinated pool can often have an undesirable effect on your hair coloring . Get back your former hair shade by dissolving six to eight aspirins in a glass of warm water. Rub the solution thoroughly into your hair, and let it set for 10-15 minutes.
