LEGOLAND® is opening in Malaysia in September!  We love all things Lego as well as rides that move at warp-speed, so some of us who spend most of our waking hours in front of a monitor screen are looking forward to a theme park (nearby) that will bring out our inner child and let our hair fly.

LEGOLAND® Malaysia has announced that the LEGO® theme park in Johor, Malaysia will open on 15th September 2012.  The 76-acre park will cater to kids from two to twelve as well as adults, with more than 40 rides and attractions from roller coasters to race cars and family-focused interactive shows. Since the park broke ground in 2009, it's opening has been eagerly anticipated and now it is finally opening - a few months ahead of schedule. The park is now approximately 75% finished with most of the rides and infrastructure already installed. Last month the contractors began work on the theming of the park and next month they will begin the installation of 50 million LEGO bricks and models in the park.

LEGOLAND® Malaysia is the sixth LEGOLAND to be built in the world and the very first in Asia. LEGOLAND Parks are based on the universally popular LEGO construction toy range. They offer families the opportunity to bond, learn and be entertained through LEGO experiences. At LEGOLAND, families can nurture their imagination and creativity, and learn while having fun. Families will be immersed in a unique mix of family-friendly rides, building challenges, spectacular LEGO models, interactive attractions and shows.

LEGOLAND® Malaysia will be located in Iskandar Malaysia and is made possible through IDR Resorts and Merlin Entertainment, the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator. Other LEGOLAND theme parks are in Denmark, United Kingdom, Germany and in Florida and California of USA.

The official park single-day tickets will go on sale online later next month. These tickets will be priced at a special introductory offer of RM96 (SGD40) for adults and RM70 (SGD29) for kids. So the public is advised to keep their eyes peeled on the LEGOLAND® Malaysia website for announcements on special promotional prices.
